Wuthering Heights-Love is what drives Heathcliff to insanity

Wuthering Heights, a gothic romance by Emily Bronte, tells the gruesome trading floor of

a Byronic hero trying to win his true venerate over. Heathcliffs love for Catherine Earnshaw

comes from the bottom of his heart since his very introduction to her as a child, but social

standards will not allow their romance to flourish. This disengagement causes loves

unbearable force to drive Heathcliff insane. This becomes evident through his purpose

for his revenge, his obsession with Catherine and his alliance in his sons life.

Society tears Heathcliff apart from his true love forcing him to use up his

revenge on this society, the cause of his undying pain. After the death of Mr. Earnshaw,

Hindleys hostile and uncaring treatment of Heathcliff, causes Heathcliff to feel spiteful

and hateful. Hindleys cruelty towards Heathcliff in to a greater extent ways than one causes Catherine

to hide her true love and inner(a) feelings and follow societys wishes to marry

Edgar Linton. For Heathcliff to find his happiness and life everafter with his true love,

he plots to travel revenge on the two men who separate him from his love one. After

Hareton was born, Frances, Hindleys wife, passed away. This event in spite of the birth

of a new son, leads him to drunkenness and gambling. With his family in shambles,

Hindley as if willed by Heathcliff, succumbs to the scheming plot that Heathcliff so well

designs.
